We would like to wish everyone who has supported us in 2018 a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS. Without your help we would not have been able to fund many of the activities that all the Young Carers have enjoyed this year. A special thank you to Joe Sutton at West Berkshire Children’s Intervention Service who has coordinated all the activities funded by FOYC-WeBs to match the needs and wishes of the children. Joe is the vital link between our fundraising charity and the Young Carers and it has been a pleasure getting to know Joe and seeing how he has raised the bar in West Berkshire to give the children as many opportunities as possible to have fun, gain confidence and have events to look forward to in the future. Enjoy reading the newsletter to find out exactly what the Young Carers have been up to this Autumn.

Our supporters range from some lovely ladies who have volunteered to knit us some Owls and help put some more together, generous donors in the community who, on watching Children in Need, decided to donate to their local charity and many more members and groups of our community like Thatcham Tornadoes, local Schools who have invited us into their assemblies to help raise awareness about Young Carers. A special thanks to Newbury and Crookham Golf Club, who thanks to Steve and Mary (mens and ladies Captains April-April 2018) chose us as their Charity and in the summer, presented us with a cheque for a remarkable twelve thousand pounds.

We are looking forward to early 2019 when we will be running another of our very popular quizzes, but in the meantime, if anyone is wondering what they could do on a cold winter’s evening in January then pop along to The Red House in Marsh Benham or the Castle in Donnington on 15th or 16th January where all the proceeds of their quiz will be going to Friends of Young Carers (West Berkshire). We would love to see you there.
