WOODLAND WALKS, SOUP, CAKE AND OWLS

There is nothing like a walk through the woods after all the leaves have fallen and the footpaths are a lovely soft carpet to stroll upon.

Fundraising is not always about the big events, or securing the large grant awards that we have been so fortunate to receive. Every now and again, we organise some small fundraising events that involve a few friends and supporters, a small amount of input from the Trustees but still keeping our focus on having fun and raising awareness about our charity for Young Carers in West Berkshire.

Thursday was no exception, when 10 of us set off for a circular walk around Newtown Common. The weather was kind and we all worked up a healthy appetite for a warming bowl of soup and a slice of homemade cake. Everyone took home an Owl of course!! This really enjoyable little walk raised £55 for FOYC-WeBs and will be going towards some one-to-one sessions in January.

Here we are looking quite rosy cheeked which might have been something to do with the Mulled Wine… did I not mention that!!

Our next fundraising event will be a ‘Call My Bluff’ Wine Tasting event on Saturday January 21st at St. Gabriel’s School Hall in Newbury. The event will be hosted by Miles Better Wines and Friends of Young Carers (West Berkshire) and the cost of a ticket will be £10 per person to include a delicious Ploughmans Supper and soft drinks.

Our previous wine tasting events have been a great success and we are really looking forward to seeing lots of familiar faces, and some new ones, at this event.

Following this, you will be able to support us, and meet us, on Sunday February 19th at the Welford Park Snowdrop Days.

FROM ALL THE TRUSTEES,

WE WISH YOU ALL HEALTH AND HAPPINESS FOR 2017
